Robert Priest and Grace Lee pull back the covers on the redesign of O, The Oprah Magazine, and the launch of its new iPad app.

Oprah's O

On Tuesday, June 7th, please join us in welcoming Robert Priest and Grace Lee (Priest + Grace) to the SPD Speakeasy to talk about their collaboration as Design Directors for O, the Oprah Magazine, and their work redesigning the print product while launching its first iPad app (We know Oprah loves her iPad!). Hear about repositioning a huge corporate brand across all kinds of platforms, working with the reality of a celebrity, and more — just days after the Oprah show goes off the air, Robert and Grace bring it all to the Speakeasy!

The Society of Publication Designers (SPD)

SPD is a membership organization dedicated to promoting and encouraging excellence in editorial design across all print and digital platforms.  Our members are art directors, designers, photo editors, photographers, illustrators and information graphics professionals, editors and students.

Since drafting its charter in 1965, SPD remains the only organization specifically addressing the visual concerns of print and digital editorial professionals, whether that be journalism, storytelling, service or more. Editorial design plays a crucial role in shaping and documenting our common history; as such, the efforts of the Society serve to educate and enlighten our members, and the general public about the importance of magazines, newspapers, and other publications.
